Yanga Threaten Action Over Match-Fixing Allegations by Analysts

Young Africans SC have expressed their intention to take action against some football analysts accused of publishing or speaking content aimed at tarnishing the club’s reputation, particularly allegations of match-fixing.

According to Yanga’s Head of Media and Communications, Ali Kamwe, the club’s leadership has already begun addressing the matter and will inform members once the appropriate steps have been finalized.

He stated clearly that the club will not remain silent in the face of statements or publications that they believe mislead the public and damage the image of the Mainland Tanzania champions.

Debate Over “Match-Fixing” Allegations

Following Yanga’s strong performances and a run of high-margin victories, a heated debate has emerged on social media and in some media outlets.

Some analysts have made unverified claims suggesting that Yanga’s success may involve match-fixing, allegations that have sparked intense online discussions.

The debate has been fueled further by Yanga’s 6–0 victory over Mbeya City in a Premier League match played at KMC Complex, which has remained a major talking point on social media.

However, to date, no official evidence has been presented to support these claims, leaving the discussion largely in the realm of speculation and perceived propaganda aimed at damaging the club’s image.

Yanga to Involve Football Authorities

The club has gone further by stating that it is monitoring the situation and may take some analysts to football governing authorities to substantiate their claims.

According to Yanga, this move is intended to protect the club’s reputation and ensure that information shared with the public is accurate and evidence-based.

Clarification on Seleman Mwalimu and Wydad AC

In another development, Ali Kamwe denied any discussions between Yanga, player Seleman Mwalimu, or Moroccan club Wydad AC.

He added that the club advises agents and analysts to use proper professional channels when negotiating player contracts instead of involving Yanga’s name in unofficial discussions.

He also noted that reports linking Mwalimu to transfer talks are purely speculative, especially after the player was seen attending Yanga’s match against Mbeya City at KMC Complex.
