Yanga have advanced to the semi-finals of the CRDB Cup after securing a 2-0 victory against JKT Tanzania in a quarter-final match played at Isamuhyo Stadium.
The match started at a high tempo, with JKT Tanzania beginning strongly during the opening 15 minutes as they searched for an early goal.
However, it was Yanga who took the lead in the 33rd minute through an own goal by Hassan Wahabi while attempting to clear a cross from Chadrack Boka.
Yanga doubled their advantage in the 40th minute through Mudathir Yahya, who finished off a through pass inside the penalty area.
The defending champions went into halftime leading 2-0.
In the second half, Yanga continued to dominate and created several more chances, but the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
Yanga now advance to the semi-finals alongside Coastal Union, who earlier reached the same stage after defeating Singida BS 4-2 on penalties following a goalless draw.
In the semi-finals, Yanga will face the winner of the other quarter-final match between Mashujaa FC and Azam FC.
