Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) have officially been relegated from the Premier League following results on April 20, 2026 that ended their hopes of survival.
The confirmation came after a goalless draw between West Ham United and Crystal Palace, a result that left Wolves too far behind the safety zone with too few matches remaining to recover.
Wolves were sitting at the bottom of the table with 17 points from 33 matches, with only five games left. Even if they had won all remaining fixtures, they would not have been able to catch up with teams above them.
The 2025/26 season has been a difficult one for Wolves, who endured a long winless run at the start of the campaign and struggled to climb out of the relegation zone throughout. Poor results and a lack of consistency have been cited as the main reasons for their downfall.
This relegation brings an end to Wolves’ roughly eight-year stay in the Premier League since their promotion in 2018, a period during which they enjoyed strong finishes and even qualified for European competitions.
