The Tanzania national team has been drawn in Group L of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 qualifying stage following the draw held today in Cairo, Egypt under the supervision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Tanzania is among the co-host nations of AFCON 2027 alongside Kenya and Uganda, meaning it already has automatic qualification for the final tournament. However, the team will still participate in the qualifying group stage to gain experience and better preparation ahead of hosting the continental competition.

The group consists of the following teams:
- Tanzania
- Nigeria
- Guinea-Bissau
- Madagascar
Tough test against African giants
Group L is expected to be highly competitive, particularly due to the presence of Nigeria, one of Africa’s most successful football nations.
Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar have also shown strong progress in recent years, making the group a challenging one for all teams involved.
