Simba SC powered into the semi-finals of the CRDB Cup after a dominant 4-0 victory over TRA United in a quarter-final match played at KMC Complex Stadium.
The Msimbazi Reds took an early lead in the 5th minute through Clatous Chama, popularly known as the “Lusaka Rock,” who finished off a cross from Nickson Kibabage.
The goal marked Chama’s sixth strike in five consecutive matches, as he continued his impressive scoring form.
Simba continued to dominate the first half, and Anicet Oura doubled the lead with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area following a pass from Alassane Kante.
Simba went into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.
In the second half, Simba coach Steve Barker made several substitutions, resting key players Chama and Oura while introducing Suleiman Mwalimu, Inno Loemba, and later young goalkeeper Bashiri Kibaila.
Mwalimu maintained his reputation for scoring off the bench by netting Simba’s third goal after a brilliant move created by David Kameta “Duchu,” who was later named Man of the Match after providing two assists.
The fourth goal was scored by Kibaila, who completed the scoring for Simba in an emphatic performance.
The victory sends Simba into the semi-finals, where they will now face Coastal Union.
