Simba SC are determined to reach the final of the Muungano Cup after head coach Steve Barker stated clearly that their goal is to secure victory against Mlandege FC in the semi-final match scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.
Simba are expected to enter the match fully aware that it will not be an easy task, given the quality and history of their opponents, Mlandege FC, who are among the most influential teams in Zanzibar football.
Speaking to the media earlier today, coach Steve Barker emphasized that preparations have been completed and his players are ready to compete and deliver a positive result.
"Preparations for this match are complete, and my players are ready to go out and perform at their best," said Barker.
He also acknowledged the strength of their opponents, noting that they are one of the most successful teams in Zanzibar, which makes the match highly competitive.
"We know it will not be an easy match because we are facing one of the most successful teams here in Zanzibar," he added.
However, Barker insisted that Simba remain fully focused and confident of progressing to the final of the competition.
"But we are ready and we have strong confidence in getting a win and advancing to the final," he stressed.
Mlandege FC, the only Zanzibar-based team to reach the semi-finals, is expected to receive strong home support, which could add pressure on Simba in this crucial encounter.
If Simba win, they will face the winner of the other semi-final between Azam FC and Yanga SC, which is set to be played today.
