Simba SC Retain CAF Top 10 Status Despite Champions League Setback

Simba SC have maintained their place among the top 10 clubs in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) rankings, despite a challenging season in the CAF Champions League.

Simba finished fourth in Group D, a result that disappointed some fans who had hoped for a stronger run in the competition. Many expected the club to drop further in the CAF rankings due to those results.

However, contrary to expectations, Simba have retained their position among Africa’s top 10 clubs, reflecting their consistent performance on the continental stage over recent years.

According to the latest CAF rankings released after the conclusion of the Champions League semi-finals and Confederation Cup stages, Simba are placed 10th in Africa with 38 points.

Simba are level on points with CR Belouizdad, who also reached the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup this season.

At the top of the table, Mamelodi Sundowns have climbed to first place after strong performances in CAF competitions this season.

Al Ahly SC remain among the continent’s elite, although they have dropped slightly to second place due to increased competition from Sundowns.

Elsewhere, USM Alger and AS FAR Rabat have both risen in the rankings following impressive performances in CAF competitions this season, securing spots in the top 10.

Al Hilal Club has also strengthened its position within the top tier thanks to strong international results.

Meanwhile, Young Africans (Yanga) are ranked 12th with 35 points, just three points behind rivals Simba SC. Azam FC and Singida BS are tied in 38th place with 5 points.
