After Young Africans SC (Yanga) suffered a 3-2 defeat against Dodoma Jiji, they have given rivals Simba SC a major opportunity to move closer in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League title race this season.
Simba will today travel to Kigoma to face Mashujaa FC in a match expected to provide strong competition.
A victory for the “Mnyama” would see the Msimbazi Reds move to 52 points, reducing the gap to just two points behind league leaders Yanga, who remain top of the table with 54 points after 23 matches.
Simba arrived in Kigoma on Wednesday evening after completing all preparations for the match in Dar es Salaam.
Simba assistant coach Suleiman Matola said the team understands that Mashujaa FC are not an easy opponent, especially when playing at home, but insisted that Simba are fully prepared to fight for all three points.
