Simba SC delivered a dominant performance at Majaliwa Stadium, securing a 3β1 victory over Namungo FC in an NBC Premier League clash.
The Msimbazi Reds took control early in the match, with Libasse Gueye opening the scoring in the 12th minute after connecting with a precise pass from Anthony Mligo inside the box.
Simba continued to pile pressure on Namungo, and Anicet Oura doubled the lead in the 25th minute with a powerful strike from just outside the penalty area that beat the goalkeeper.
In the 33rd minute, Namungo were awarded a controversial penalty after the ball struck Yusuph Kagoma, who appeared to have his hands tucked in. Heritier Makambo converted the spot-kick to pull one back for the hosts.
As Namungo pushed for an equalizer in the second half, Elie Mpanzu sealed the win for Simba with a well-taken goal in the 74th minute.
The victory earns Simba three crucial points, strengthening their hold on second place in the league standings with 42 points.
Simba have now reduced the gap to league leaders Yanga to five points, with their next match set to be the highly anticipated Kariakoo Derby on May 3.
