Mamelodi Sundowns have booked their place in the 2026 CAF Champions League final after securing a 1–0 victory over Espérance Sportive de Tunis in the second leg of their semifinal at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
The result sees Sundowns progress with a 2–0 aggregate win, following their 1–0 away victory in Tunisia in the first leg played on April 12, 2026.
The only goal of the match was scored by Brayan León, who converted from a rebound after his penalty was initially saved by the Esperance goalkeeper.
In the match, Sundowns displayed great discipline, making the most of their limited chances while maintaining a solid defensive structure to keep their opponents at bay.
Despite increased pressure from Esperance, especially in the second half, they failed to find the net due to poor finishing.
With this result, Sundowns have reached the final of the competition for the fifth time in their history, having previously done so in 2001, 2016, 2024, 2025, and now 2026.
In the final, Sundowns will face the winner between Moroccan clubs RSB Berkane and AS FAR Rabat, with the two-legged final scheduled for May 15 and May 24, 2026.
