Liverpool FC have begun efforts to find a long-term replacement for star winger Mohamed Salah by contacting RB Leipzig over a potential move for highly-rated youngster Yan Diomande.
The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international has become one of the most talked-about prospects in the transfer market due to his pace, creativity, and ability to operate on the flanks. Liverpool reportedly view him as a long-term successor to Salah, who left Anfield at the end of last season.
Reports suggest that Liverpool have already initiated early discussions with RB Leipzig to explore the possibility of signing the player, with initial talks also said to have involved the player’s camp before formal club-to-club negotiations began.
However, RB Leipzig have taken a firm stance against selling Diomande at this stage, identifying him as a key part of their long-term project. The German club believe the youngster still has significant development potential within the Bundesliga before considering a move elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have also entered the race for his signature, with the French giants keen to strengthen their attacking options. Diomande is reportedly open to the possibility of joining PSG, adding further competition for his services.
Despite growing interest from top European clubs, a final decision on the player’s future is expected after the conclusion of the World Cup finals set to begin next week in the United States. That is when Diomande and his representatives are expected to decide the next step in his career.
