Lamine Yamal Ruled Out for Rest of Season After Hamstring Injury

FC Barcelona have confirmed that their young star Lamine Yamal (18) will miss all remaining matches of the season after suffering a muscle injury in his left leg.

According to an official club statement, medical tests carried out after the La Liga match against Celta Vigo revealed that Yamal has injured the biceps femoris muscle, located at the back of his left thigh.

The statement added that the player will undergo full rest and recovery, meaning he will not feature in any more matches in the 2025/2026 season.

Yamal’s absence is a major blow for FC Barcelona during a crucial stage of the season, as the club closes in on the La Liga title, needing to win at least three of their remaining six matches.

The teenager has been one of Barcelona’s key players this season, contributing goals and assists in several important matches, and is widely regarded as one of Europe’s brightest emerging talents.

Despite the injury setback, reports indicate that both the club and national team are optimistic about Yamal returning fully fit for international duty with Spain.

He is expected to play an important role in Spain’s preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
