Inter Milan have continued to confirm their dominance in Italian football after winning their 10th Coppa Italia title with a 2-0 victory over Lazio in the final played on Wednesday night, May 13, 2026, at Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
The Serie A champions entered the match full of confidence after already securing the Scudetto last week, and they showed their quality early in the game.
The opening goal came in the 14th minute when Adam Marusic scored an own goal following a dangerous corner delivered by Federico Dimarco that caused confusion inside Lazio’s penalty area. Lautaro Martinez added the second goal in the 35th minute after finishing a pass from Marcus Thuram.
The victory means Inter have completed a domestic double by winning both Serie A and the Coppa Italia in the same season. It is the first time an Italian club has achieved the feat since Juventus in the 2017–18 campaign.
Head coach Cristian Chivu has now made history in his first season in charge of Inter. Captain Lautaro Martinez said the success was built on discipline, unity, and the strong desire to win shown by the squad throughout the season.
Inter controlled most areas of the match, with midfielder Nicolò Barella and defender Denzel Dumfries delivering standout performances. Lazio attempted to fight back in the second half through Tijjani Noslin and Boulaye Dia, but goalkeeper Josep Martinez produced several important saves.
