FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has agreed to extend his contract with the club until 2028, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Reports indicate that discussions between Barcelona’s management and Flick’s representatives have reached an advanced stage, with both sides satisfied with the direction of the club’s project under the German coach.
Flick’s current contract was set to run until 2027, but Barcelona have moved to secure his long-term future due to his quick impact and the club’s rebuilding plan. The new agreement will keep him at Camp Nou until June 2028.
Reasons for the new contract
Barcelona are reportedly pleased with:
- Flick’s strong leadership on and off the pitch
- Squad development and promotion of young players
- Team competitiveness in La Liga and European competitions
Flick has remained highly trusted within the club since his arrival, and is seen as a key part of Barcelona’s “new project” aimed at restoring their dominance in European football.
