Yanga head coach Pedro Goncalves has said his team is ready for a tough Muungano Cup semi-final clash against Azam FC, set to be played on Saturday at the New Amaan Complex.
Speaking to journalists in Zanzibar, Goncalves stated that despite the short preparation time, his squad is well prepared for the crucial match and expects strong competition.
He noted that Azam FC is among the top teams and has consistently provided tough opposition whenever the two sides meet, adding extra weight to the encounter.
"We expect a difficult and highly competitive match because we are facing a quality team. Every time we play against Azam FC, they give us a strong challenge," said Goncalves.
He added that despite a tight schedule due to closely scheduled matches in both the tournament and the league, his team has prepared carefully to ensure they achieve their goal of reaching the final.
Yanga, the defending champions of the competition, are aiming to win the title for the second consecutive season, and a victory would secure their second straight final appearance.
The winner of the match will advance to face the winner of the other semi-final between Mlandege FC and Simba SC, who will meet on Sunday.
