Attacking midfielder Clatous Chama is expected to continue playing for Simba SC after reaching the final stages of negotiations for a new contract with the Msimbazi-based club, it has been confirmed.
Chama, who rejoined Simba from Singida Big Stars SC, initially signed a one-year deal. However, reports now indicate that talks for an additional one-year extension have been successfully concluded.
According to sources within the Simba management, the new agreement is expected to keep the Zambian midfielder at the club until 2028, a move seen as part of the club’s strategy to strengthen its competitive squad.
Simba’s leadership acted early to secure the player’s future before the end of the season, aiming to prevent other clubs from attempting to sign him.
Since returning during the mid-season transfer window, Chama has remained a key figure in the team’s setup, contributing eight goals across all competitions and impressing fans and football stakeholders in the country.
In addition to his goal contributions, the Zambian midfielder has also set a record by winning man-of-the-match awards in four consecutive games, highlighting his quality and importance to the Simba squad.
