Star Boy Allan Okello continued his sensational form at KMC Complex today, inspiring Yanga SC to a 3–1 victory over Namungo FC in an NBC Premier League match.
Duke Abuya gave Yanga an early lead in the 26th minute through a quick counterattack before Namungo equalized through Hassan Kabunda. The two sides went into halftime level at 1–1.
The second half belonged to Okello. He scored Yanga’s second goal in the 53rd minute after reacting quickly to a rebound from Namungo’s goalkeeper following a cross from Prince Dube.
As Namungo searched for an equalizer, Okello struck again in the 84th minute, skillfully beating a defender before scoring inside the penalty area.
The goal was Okello’s 11th of the season, leaving him just one behind league top scorer Feisal Salum, who has 12 goals.
It was another remarkable milestone for Okello, who has now scored in five consecutive matches and netted braces in four straight games. He has scored nine goals in just five matches.
The victory returns Yanga to the top of the league table with 60 points after 25 matches.
