AS FAR Rabat Reach CAF Champions League Final Despite Narrow Defeat to Berkane

AS FAR Rabat have secured a place in the 2026 CAF Champions League final despite suffering a 1–0 defeat to RSB Berkane in the second leg of their semifinal clash played on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

The result did not stop AS FAR from advancing, as they qualified with a 2–1 aggregate victory following their 2–0 win in the first leg.

In the match, Berkane scored their only goal from a second-half penalty, piling pressure on their opponents who were defending their first-leg advantage.

Despite sustained attacks, AS FAR showed great defensive discipline and resilience to withstand Berkane’s pressure until the final whistle, securing their place in the final.

Berkane dominated large portions of the game and made good use of their home advantage, but failed to convert enough chances to overturn the deficit.

With this result, AS FAR will now face Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League final, after Sundowns eliminated Espérance Sportive de Tunis with a 2–0 aggregate win in the other semifinal.

The final will be played over two legs on May 15 and May 24, 2026, with both teams aiming to be crowned African champions in what promises to be a highly competitive showdown.
