Azam FC Secure Vital Victory as Coastal Union and Namungo Share Points on NBC Premier League Return

The NBC Premier League resumed today following the FIFA international break, with two highly competitive matches producing contrasting results. Azam FC recorded an important 2-0 victory over Fountain Gate, while Coastal Union and Namungo FC played out a 1-1 draw.

At Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha, Azam FC delivered a strong performance to claim all three points against Fountain Gate.

Azam took the lead in the 36th minute through striker Jean Jacques Ngita, who finished off a well-worked team move to give his side a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.

Fountain Gate started the second half determined to find an equalizer, but Azam FC remained solid at both ends of the pitch. In the 63rd minute, Japhet Kitambala doubled the visitors' lead, effectively sealing the result and ensuring Azam left Arusha with a 2-0 victory.

Meanwhile, at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga, Coastal Union and Namungo FC shared the spoils after an entertaining 1-1 draw.

Coastal Union opened the scoring in the 37th minute through Robert Savila, delighting the home supporters with a composed finish.

However, Namungo FC continued to push forward in search of an equalizer, and their persistence paid off in the 63rd minute when Geofrey Luzindaze found the back of the net to level the match at 1-1.

Both sides created opportunities during the closing stages, but neither team could find a winning goal, and the match ended with the points shared.
