Tottenham Hotspur have successfully convinced Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi to join the club on a long-term five-year contract.
De Zerbi, who is currently without a club after leaving Marseille earlier this year, takes over the responsibility of managing Spurs, a team going through a difficult period in the English Premier League.
The decision to appoint him follows the departure of interim coach Igor Tudor, who left the club by mutual agreement after a short spell in charge.
De Zerbi is reported to have accepted the deal and is expected to sign a five-year contract running until 2031.
The 46-year-old coach is known for his attacking, possession-based style of football, which he demonstrated during his time at Brighton, where he helped the club qualify for European competitions for the first time in their history.
For Spurs, the main priority now is to ensure they remain in the Premier League, with De Zerbi’s arrival seen as both an immediate and long-term solution to the challenges facing the club.
De Zerbi is expected to begin work immediately, tasked with rescuing the team and rebuilding it for competitiveness in the coming seasons.
