Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has strongly defended his star-signing transfer policy, stressing his ambition to continue building a squad filled with world-class players as the club enters a new leadership phase.
In remarks linked to his leadership campaign within the club, Pérez pledged that Real Madrid is prepared to complete a major €150 million signing, saying the move is part of continuing the “Galácticos” philosophy that has defined the club’s historic success.
“I signed Zidane, Figo, Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaká... a €150m player is a Galáctico. The player we are targeting falls into that same category,” he was quoted as saying, emphasizing his commitment to maintaining that strategy as in previous years.
The statement comes at a time when Real Madrid is preparing for a new chapter after finishing the season without winning any trophy.
Pérez reiterated that his leadership vision remains focused on bringing the world’s best players to Santiago Bernabéu in order to strengthen the club’s competitiveness in Europe.
He also touched on technical planning, linking future transfers with squad restructuring, and suggesting that several areas of the team could be strengthened ahead of the new season.
