Azam FC are reportedly in the final stages of completing the signing of Ugandan striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe from KCCA FC as the club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
According to transfer sources, Azam FC have already reached personal terms with the forward, with only the final formalities remaining before he is officially unveiled as a new player for the Chamazi-based club.
Ahimbisibwe arrives with an impressive reputation after finishing the 2024/25 season as the top scorer in the Uganda Premier League, netting 14 goals for KCCA FC. His consistent goalscoring ability has made him one of the most feared strikers in Ugandan football in recent years.
His scoring record has been outstanding over the past two seasons. In the previous campaign, he scored 16 goals and finished second in the leagueās top scorers chart behind attacking midfielder Allan Okello, who was then playing for Vipers FC.
Okello, who finished as the leagueās leading scorer that season, later left Uganda and joined Yanga SC during this seasonās mid-season transfer window.
If the deal is completed as expected, Azam FC will have secured a striker with experience, proven finishing ability, and a strong track record of performance over several consecutive seasons.
His arrival could provide a major boost to Azamās attacking department as the club continues its pursuit of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League title and aims to make a stronger impact in continental competitions.
