Two NBC Premier League matches were played today, Tuesday, May 26, to conclude Round 25 fixtures.
At CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza, Tanzania Prisons earned an important 3-1 victory over Pamba Jiji FC, a result that boosted the club’s hopes of escaping relegation danger.
The win keeps Tanzania Prisons fighting for survival in the NBC Premier League, showing renewed determination during the closing stages of the season.
Meanwhile in Singida, Singida Black Stars continued their impressive form with a dominant 4-1 victory over Mbeya City FC at Airtel Stadium.
Mbeya City took the lead first through an own goal in the fourth minute, but Singida Black Stars responded strongly. Ande Cirille equalized in the 16th minute before Malanga Horso Mwaku scored the second goal just two minutes later. In the second half, Khalid Aucho added a third goal from the penalty spot in the 84th minute before Malanga scored again in the 89th minute to seal the 4-1 win.
The result strengthened Singida Black Stars’ hold on fourth place in the league standings, increasing their hopes of finishing the season in a strong position for international competition qualification.
On the other hand, Mbeya City’s situation continues to worsen as they remain in the relegation playoff zone. The heavy defeat has increased pressure on the team heading into the final matches of the season, with fans growing increasingly concerned about their top-flight future.
