England head coach Thomas Tuchel has officially announced a 26-man squad that will represent the national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The major talking point in the squad is the omission of defender Harry Maguire, who has been an important figure for England in previous major tournaments. Maguire said he was deeply disappointed by the decision to leave him out.
Alongside Maguire, other high-profile players omitted include Phil Foden and Cole Palmer, while striker Ivan Toney returns to the squad after impressing in the Saudi Arabian league.
