Casemiro Close to MLS Move with Inter Miami After Manchester United Exit

Manchester United defensive midfielder Casemiro is reportedly on the verge of moving to Major League Soccer (MLS) next season, following reports that talks to join Inter Miami CF are in their final stages.

Reports from various sports media outlets in Europe and the United States indicate that Inter Miami have identified Casemiro as their top target to strengthen the midfield following the retirement of Sergio Busquets at the end of last season.

The 34-year-old Brazilian star is expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of the current season after spending four years at Manchester United, having joined from Real Madrid CF in 2022.

Despite going through a difficult spell in some recent matches, Casemiro has continued to show his vast experience and leadership within the United squad. Reports suggest that the club has decided not to offer him a new contract due to his age and his current high wages.

Inter Miami, which already boasts stars such as Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, and Germán Berterame, appears keen to add more experience to a squad aiming to continue dominating MLS. The club, partly owned by David Beckham, believes Casemiro could fill the gap left by Busquets in midfield.

Under MLS salary regulations, Casemiro would need to accept a significant pay cut for the deal to be completed.
