Yanga Open Talks to Bring Back Stephane Aziz Ki

Young Africans SC (Yanga) have entered a new stage of discussions aimed at re-signing their former attacking midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki, who currently plays for Al Ittihad SC after leaving Wydad AC, it has been reported.

Aziz Ki joined Wydad AC from Yanga SC during the previous transfer window but stayed only for about six months before moving to Libya, where he signed for Al Ittihad SC in the January 2026 transfer window.

Sources indicate that Yanga SC have begun confidential talks to convince him to return to Jangwani, with reports suggesting positive progress is being made behind the scenes.

According to unofficial information, Aziz Ki has been facing security challenges in Libya, which is believed to be one of the factors pushing him to consider a return to Tanzania.

Family reasons are also said to be influencing his decision. The Burkina Faso midfielder’s wife, Hamisa Mobetto, is based in Tanzania, increasing his desire to be closer to his family.

Aziz Ki and Hamisa Mobetto got married on February 16, 2025, in Dar es Salaam. Since then, the player has been splitting his time between his professional duties in Libya and family life in Tanzania, a situation reportedly affecting him socially and psychologically due to distance.

Before leaving Yanga, Aziz Ki spent three seasons at the club, scoring more than 50 goals across all competitions. He also won individual awards including MVP honors and the league’s top scorer title, establishing himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in the Tanzanian Premier League history.
