Football fans will today turn their attention to Wembley Stadium where English giants Chelsea FC and Manchester City will face off in the 2025/26 FA Cup final.
The final is expected to be highly competitive, with both teams carrying different motivations as they battle for the trophy in front of thousands of fans expected to fill the stadium.
Manchester City, coached by Pep Guardiola, enter the match looking to erase the disappointment of losing the previous two FA Cup finals. City have now reached the FA Cup final for a fourth consecutive season, setting a new club record.
Despite being among the strongest-performing teams this season, Guardiola admitted that a demanding fixture schedule has affected his team’s preparations for the crucial encounter.
For Chelsea, the final represents an important opportunity to rescue their season after struggling in several competitions throughout the campaign.
Chelsea have not won the FA Cup since 2018 and also head into the match without a victory against Manchester City in their last 13 meetings.
Chelsea interim coach Calum McFarlane said his squad remains motivated despite many people giving them little chance of winning the match.
The club has also received a boost after several injured players returned to the squad ahead of the season-ending final.
According to statistics from the Football Association (FA), this will be the first time Chelsea and Manchester City have met in an FA Cup final.
Chelsea are chasing their ninth FA Cup title, while Manchester City are aiming to secure their eighth crown in the competition.
