The excitement of the NBC Premier League continues today as Round 23 comes to an end with four matches scheduled to take place at different venues across Tanzania.
Two matches will kick off earlier at 2:00 PM, with Mtibwa Sugar hosting KMC at Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro, while Tanzania Prisons will face Fountain Gate at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.
The most anticipated fixture of the day is the clash between Mashujaa FC and Simba SC, scheduled for 4:15 PM at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma.
Simba, despite playing away from home, are targeting all three points to move closer to rivals Young Africans SC (Yanga) in the race for this season’s league title.
Yanga suffered a 3-2 defeat against Dodoma Jiji yesterday, meaning a Simba victory today would reduce the gap between the two sides to just two points.
However, Mashujaa FC are far from easy opponents when playing at home. This season, they remain unbeaten at Lake Tanganyika Stadium.
The team has also gone approximately seven matches without defeat under head coach Jamhuri Kiwhelo, popularly known as “Julio.”
The final match of the day will see Azam FC take on Pamba Jiji at 6:30 PM at KMC Complex.
