Barcelona 100-Point Dream Ends After Defeat to Alaves

La Liga champions FC Barcelona missed the chance to reach 100 points this season after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Deportivo Alavés on Wednesday night, May 13, 2026.

The only goal of the match was scored by Ibrahim Diabate late in the first half at Mendizorroza Stadium, giving Alavés a crucial victory in their battle to avoid relegation.

Barcelona, who had already secured the La Liga title last week after defeating Real Madrid, needed to win their final three matches to reach the 100-point mark. However, the defeat ended those hopes early.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick admitted he was disappointed with the result, although he noted some positive performances from his heavily rotated squad.

Meanwhile, the victory helped Alavés climb to 15th place in the La Liga standings and boosted their hopes of remaining in the top flight next season.
