Ugandan journalist Ronnie Santos Mwine has reported that officials from Turkish club Fenerbahce have been in Tanzania for four days closely monitoring Yanga SC midfielder Allan Okello.
Fenerbahçe, a top club in the Turkish Süper Lig, is said to be impressed by the attacking midfielder, who is also a Uganda international, after his recent move to Yanga during the mid-season transfer window.
Since joining Young Africans SC, Okello has delivered strong performances, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in the league so far.
It is also reported that the Turkish club officials are expected to be in attendance tomorrow when Yanga face Dodoma Jiji in a Tanzanian Premier League match scheduled at the Airtel Mtibwa Stadium.
If Fenerbahçe decide to pursue the signing, they will need to enter formal negotiations with Yanga SC, although no official talks have started between the two clubs so far.
Okello joined Yanga from Vipers SC of Uganda, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Tanzanian giants.
