The Egyptian Premier League title race has reached its most dramatic stage, with the 2025/2026 champion set to be decided on the final day of the season, May 20, in a fierce battle between Zamalek SC, Pyramids FC, and Al Ahly SC.
This is a unique season in the league’s history, as three teams enter the final round still capable of winning the title, with all decisive matches scheduled to be played simultaneously.
Zamalek SC are in the strongest position, sitting on 53 points and needing just one point against Ceramica Cleopatra to be crowned champions. A win or draw would be enough to secure the title.
Pyramids FC, who are on 51 points, must beat Smouha and hope that Zamalek lose their match in order to have a chance of lifting the trophy.
Al Ahly SC, the most successful club in Egyptian football history, are on 50 points and face the most complicated scenario. They must beat Al Masry, hope Zamalek lose, and also rely on Pyramids dropping points to win the league.
The excitement is amplified by the fact that all three matches will be played at the same time, forcing fans to follow multiple live updates as every goal could directly impact the title race.
There is also a possibility that Al Ahly could finish third if all top teams win their final matches. In that case, they would qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup instead of the CAF Champions League after years of dominance in African football.
