Chelsea continued their decline in the Premier League after suffering a 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.
Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi was the star of the match, scoring two goals to give the visitors a strong start. Awoniyi opened the scoring in the 2nd minute before adding another in the 52nd minute.
Nottingham Forest’s other goal was scored by Igor Jesus from the penalty spot in the 15th minute, following defensive mistakes by Chelsea that proved costly.
Chelsea pulled one goal back late in the match through João Pedro, but it was not enough to rescue them from defeat.
Despite creating several chances, including a penalty, Chelsea failed to capitalize, increasing the pressure on both the coaching staff and players.
The result leaves Chelsea struggling in the league standings, while Nottingham Forest boost their hopes of survival with an important away victory.
