The NBC Premier League continued today with two matches played in the cities of Kigoma and Mbeya.
Mashujaa FC Secure Victory in Kigoma
At Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma, Mashujaa FC claimed a narrow 1-0 win over TRA United.
The only goal of the match was scored by Ismail Mgunda in the 37th minute, and it stood until the end of the 90 minutes. The victory gives Mashujaa valuable points in their push to climb up the league standings.
TRA United tried to equalize in the second half but failed to break through Mashujaa’s solid defense.
Mbeya Derby: Mbeya City Come Out on Top
In the Mbeya city derby at Sokoine Stadium, Mbeya City secured a 2-1 victory over Tanzania Prisons in a high-pressure match for both sides.
Mbeya City started strongly, taking the lead through Eliud Ambokile in the 19th minute. However, Tanzania Prisons responded when Emmanuel Martin equalized in the 33rd minute.
In the second half, Mbeya City’s pressure paid off when Prisons defender Martin Mhilu scored an own goal, giving Mbeya City the winning goal.
