Yanga have continued to make history in the Tanzanian Premier League after reaching 40 consecutive matches without defeat, following their 2-2 draw against Simba SC yesterday.
The result extends Yanga’s remarkable unbeaten run, with the club widely regarded as one of the most dominant teams in Tanzanian football in recent years.
According to league statistics, the last time Yanga lost a Premier League match was on November 7, 2024, when they were defeated 3-1 by Tabora United, now known as TRA United.
Since then, Yanga have maintained consistent performances, leading to their current milestone of 40 matches unbeaten.
Statistics show the club is now just nine matches away from equaling their previous record of 49 unbeaten games, set two seasons ago. If they complete the remaining fixtures without defeat, they will break their own record and set a new benchmark in league history.
Historically, Yanga hold the top records for unbeaten runs in the Tanzanian Premier League, with streaks of 49 and 40 matches, while Simba SC and Azam FC follow with 37 matches each.
Football analysts say this achievement reflects strong tactical organization, player discipline, and stable leadership within the Yanga squad.
As the season continues, the big question remains: can Yanga surpass their own record and set a new historic milestone?
