Clatous Chama Shines as Simba Star Turns Big Matches Against Yanga

Midfielder Clatous Chama has once again proven his quality, with some now describing him as possibly the best foreign player to ever feature in Tanzanian football.

When Simba re-signed him, there were critics who dismissed the move, calling him “old,” but his performances in the last two matches against Yanga have silenced those doubts.

In the Muungano Cup final, Chama played a key role by winning a late penalty after being fouled inside the box, helping Simba secure victory in the dying moments.

In yesterday’s league match, he was once again the standout performer, earning the Man of the Match award after directly contributing to both goals.

He provided the assist for Libasse Gueye’s opener before scoring a superb second goal himself—one that could go down as one of the best goals of the season.

Across 210 minutes played in the last two matches against Yanga, Chama has been directly involved in three goals for Simba.

His presence has become a key tactical asset for coach Steve Barker, who relies on the experienced midfielder to lead and shape the team’s attacking play.
