Barcelona Edge Osasuna to Move Closer to La Liga Title

FC Barcelona took a major step toward winning the La Liga title after securing a 2-1 victory over CA Osasuna at El Sadar Stadium on Saturday night.

In a tightly contested match, Barcelona had to wait until the closing stages to break down a disciplined Osasuna side playing in front of their home fans.

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 81st minute with a header from a right-wing cross. Shortly after, Ferran Torres added a second goal to give Barcelona a comfortable lead.

Osasuna responded quickly through Raúl García, who scored a consolation goal in the 88th minute, but it was not enough to deny the visitors victory.

The win keeps Barcelona firmly at the top of the table with a 14-point lead over their closest rivals, Real Madrid CF, as the title race nears its conclusion.

The result increases the possibility of Barcelona being crowned champions in their next match against Real Madrid, famously known as El Clásico, or even earlier if Real Madrid lose their match against Espanyol.

Head coach Hansi Flick said after the match that his team showed patience and discipline at crucial moments, while emphasizing the need to finish the job in the remaining games.
