Simba SC Open Talks with Azam FC Right-Back Nathaniel Chilambo

Simba SC have officially begun talks with Azam FC right-back Nathaniel Chilambo as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of next season.

According to internal reports, Simba have placed strong emphasis on improving their full-back positions, particularly on the right side, where captain Shomari Kapombe currently plays alongside David Kameta “Duchu”.

However, Kameta has not yet been able to provide strong competition for Kapombe, prompting the technical bench to consider reinforcing that area.

Simba coach Steve Barker has reportedly recommended improvements in that position, seeking more depth and options in key defensive roles.

It is understood that Chilambo’s contract with Azam FC runs until the end of the current season, allowing him to engage in talks with any interested club. This has encouraged Simba to move early to secure his signature before the official transfer window opens.

Sources indicate that Simba’s management has already prepared a two-year contract offer as part of their long-term squad-building plan. If an agreement is reached, Chilambo is expected to sign a pre-contract before joining officially.

Simba SC are also said to have shifted their transfer strategy, now focusing on completing negotiations early to avoid intense competition in the transfer market.
