Yanga SC Defeat Azam FC to Reach Union Cup Final

Defending champions Yanga SC have secured a place in the final of the Union Cup after a 2-1 victory over Azam FC in a semifinal match played at the New Amaan Complex Stadium in Zanzibar.

Yanga showed great pace and quality from the start of the match, dominating much of the first half and managing to score two important goals that gave them an early lead.

The first goal for Yanga was scored by Prince Dube, who finished neatly from a well-delivered assist by Allan Okello. After that goal, Yanga continued to attack and added a second through Maxi Nzengeli, who capitalized on a pass from Dube.

Azam FC appeared to lose direction in the first half, while Yanga missed several more chances that could have increased their lead.

The second half was slightly different, with Azam FC returning to the pitch stronger and beginning to attack more cautiously. Yanga, on the other hand, were forced to play more disciplined football as they protected their two-goal advantage.

Azam FC’s efforts eventually paid off through Feisal Salum, who scored a consolation goal to restore hope for his team, although it was not enough to change the final result.

With this result, Yanga SC have advanced to the final of the Union Cup, where they will now wait to face the winner between Simba SC and Mlandege FC in the other semifinal scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday.
