A goal from Suleiman Mwalimu was enough to send Simba into the semifinals of the Muungano Cup after a 1-0 victory over Mafunzo FC in their quarterfinal match at the New Amaan Complex.
After several missed chances in the first half, the introduction of Mwalimu in the second half changed the course of the game, as he scored the decisive goal that secured the win.
Simba will now face Mlandege FC in the semifinal scheduled for Sunday, April 26.
Earlier, Mlandege FC booked their place in the semifinals after defeating Singida BS 2-1.
Mlandege are the only team from Zanzibar to reach the semifinals, joining Simba, Azam FC, and Yanga at this stage of the competition.
The other semifinal will see Azam FC take on Yanga.
