Singida Big Stars (Singida BS) has expressed its position on the ongoing dispute between Yanga SC and some local football analysts, emphasizing the importance of protecting club reputation and the overall image of the league.
Speaking to journalists shortly before traveling to Zanzibar, Singida BS spokesperson Hussein Massanza praised Yanga SC for taking strong legal action against individuals accused of making allegations and statements aimed at tarnishing the club’s reputation.
Massanza said Singida BS has also faced baseless accusations, including claims that the club has preferential ties with Yanga SC or that it participates in the Premier League to benefit the club.
He stressed that such claims are untrue and should be ignored, adding that if they continue, the club will not hesitate to take legal action.
Singida BS also stated that Yanga SC’s decision to take the matter to court is a good example, as it seeks to protect the reputation of the club, the league, and the image of Tanzanian football as a whole.
The club further urged other teams facing similar challenges to take similar steps instead of remaining silent, insisting that some analysts make statements that can damage clubs and affect the growth of the sport.
"Yanga did a good thing by taking such a matter to court, because such accusations do not only tarnish a club but also damage the league and all football governing bodies as a whole."
"It is better for all teams facing such challenges to take similar action as Yanga, because there are analysts who are also damaging other clubs," said Massanza.
