Azam FC Coach Ibenge Eyes Tough KVZ Clash in Muungano Cup Quarterfinal

Azam FC head coach Florent Ibenge has admitted that the Muungano Cup quarterfinal match against KVZ is expected to be difficult. However, he said his goal is to win the game and secure a place in the semifinals of the competition.

Ibenge said KVZ is one of the best teams in Zanzibar, currently sitting at the top of the league standings, and therefore he expects a tough challenge in tomorrow’s match.

"We are preparing ourselves with the aim of winning and progressing to the semifinal stage."

"With all due respect to our opponents, I know they are a strong team—you could even say they are the best here in Zanzibar—but I can only say that we want to qualify for the next stage," he said.

Azam FC arrived in Zanzibar yesterday and are expected to complete their preparations today ahead of the highly anticipated clash against KVZ, which is expected to be highly competitive.

If Azam FC advance to the semifinals, they could face defending champions Yanga, who play today against Muembe Makumbi in the first quarterfinal match of the tournament.
