Young Africans SC head coach Pedro Goncalves has said his team is fully prepared for their NBC Premier League match against Mbeya City FC, stressing that their main objective is to secure all three points.
Speaking ahead of the match scheduled for Thursday, April 16 at KMC Complex, Goncalves admitted that it will not be an easy game but expressed strong confidence in his squadās ability to deliver.
"We understand the difficulty of this match, but we are ready to fight. My team is in good condition and we need three points to maintain a strong position in the league table," said Goncalves.
The coach also explained that in the previous match he made several tactical changes intentionally to give some players match fitness and rest key players, which he believes will benefit the team going forward.
A major boost for Yanga is the return of striker Prince Dube, who had been sidelined due to injury. Goncalves believes his return will add strength and efficiency to the attacking line.
"I have high expectations after Dubeās return. He already got some minutes in the last match, and I believe he will add more sharpness to our attack," he added.
However, Goncalves emphasized the need for caution against Mbeya City FC, noting that they have an experienced and competitive squad capable of causing problems.
"We must respect our opponents. Mbeya City have a strong and experienced team. Focus is very important because football is a game of mistakesāone error can decide the outcome," he stressed.
Despite Dubeās return, the coach acknowledged ongoing injury concerns within the squad, forcing the technical bench to find alternative solutions to cover the gaps.
Overall, Young Africans SC enter the match with high morale, aiming to maintain their position at the top of the league while fans expect both victory and entertaining football.
