The Ghana Football Association has officially announced the appointment of Carlos Queiroz as the new head coach of the Ghana national team, popularly known as the Black Stars, in a move aimed at restoring the teamâs competitiveness on the international stage.
Â
Queiroz, a coach with over 30 years of experience, brings an impressive résumé in world football. He previously served as an assistant to Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and also led the Iran national team to qualify for and participate in the FIFA World Cup three consecutive times. In addition, he has coached the national teams of Colombia and Egypt, building a reputation as a specialist in major tournaments.
Â
His appointment comes at a time when Ghana is preparing for new challenges, particularly ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, after missing out on qualification for the 2022 tournament. Football authorities in the country believe that Queirozâs experience in high-pressure environments will help rebuild the team.
Â
The main objectives for the Black Stars under his leadership are to reach the advanced stages of the World Cup, restore Ghanaâs pride in international football, and write a new chapter of success for the nation both in Africa and globally.
Â
Queirozâs arrival signals the beginning of a new era for Ghana, with high hopes placed on him to return the team to the top level of world football competition.
