Azam FC of Tanzania are reportedly continuing to monitor right-back DR Congo international Steve Ebuela, who currently plays for Al Hilal SC, as they look to strengthen their defense ahead of the upcoming Tanzania Premier League season.
According to sources close to the club’s management, Azam FC previously attempted to sign the player during the last transfer window, but negotiations did not reach a final agreement due to contractual issues and transfer timing constraints.
However, reports indicate that the club has now revived its interest in the defender, who is said to be among players recommended by head coach Florent Ibenge.
Ibenge is believed to be keen on reuniting with Ebuela, having previously worked with him at Al Hilal, where the defender played a key role under his management and impressed in the full-back position.
Ebuela, who operates as a right-back, is known for his pace, attacking support, and defensive discipline—qualities that align with Azam FC’s plans to strengthen their squad.
