The NBC Premier League continued today with matches played in Arusha and Manyara regions.
The most closely followed match by football fans in the country was between TRA United and Simba, played at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.
After 90 minutes, the match ended in a goalless draw, with TRA United left to regret missing out on all three points.
TRA United were the better side, creating more dangerous attacks, with winger Ramadhan Chobwedo causing significant problems for Simba’s defense.
The result has clearly disappointed Simba fans, who were hoping to see their team secure a win to keep pressure on their rivals Yanga in the title race.
Simba now trails Yanga by eight points, having accumulated 36 points, while Yanga leads the league with 44 points. Simba, however, still has one game in hand.
In another match played in Manyara, Mbeya City held Azam FC to a goalless draw.
This marks Azam FC’s 10th draw of the season, a result that further diminishes their title hopes as they now trail league leaders Yanga by 10 points.
