Singida Black Stars defender Ibrahim Imoro has been named the NBC Premier League Player of the Month for March in the 2025/26 season, while Simba coach Steve Barker was selected as the League’s Coach of the Month for the same period.
Imoro displayed consistent high-level performances, scoring three goals in five matches, helping Singida climb from 10th to 6th place in the NBC Premier League standings.
The defender beat finalists Anicet Oura of Simba and Lamine Jarjou of Singida Black Stars in the Player of the Month voting conducted by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Awards Committee.
For Barker, who was a finalist alongside Pedro Goncalves of Yanga and David Ouma of Singida Black Stars, he guided his team to two wins and two draws, moving from 3rd to 2nd place in the league table.
At the same time, Airtel Stadium Manager in Singida, Omar Malule, was named Stadium Manager of the Month for March due to his excellent management of matchday events and stadium infrastructure.
In other NBC league awards, Omari Mponda of Mbuni was named Player of the Month for the NBC Championship, while Zuberi Katwila of Geita Gold was selected as Coach of the Month.
Mponda, who competed with finalists Yusuf Mhilu and Maulid Shaaban of Geita Gold, showed consistent performance, scoring two goals in 155 minutes across two matches in March.
Katwila, who was a finalist alongside Leonard Budeba of Mbuni and Twaha Beimbaya of B19, led his team to victories in both matches, moving from 2nd to 1st place in the league standings.
The Awards Committee also shortlisted three top goals for fans to vote on for the March Fans’ Goal of the Month award. The nominees are Prince Dube (Singida vs Yanga, 38'), Joseph Akandwanaho (TRA vs Namungo, 90+1'), and Ibrahim Imoro (Mbeya City vs Singida Black Stars, 86').
